The nutria is a large, semi-aquatic rodent (in the mouse family) that is dark in color and sometimes mistaken for a beaver or muskrat. Nutria are members of the Myocastoridae family.Nutria breed at least three times a year; late winter, early summer and mid-autumn. Females become sexual mature at 4 months of age.
